5 QUESTIONS, 1 PROPER FAMILY
We chatted recently with our very own Monica Lostica, the Event Sales Manager in our new hotel, San Francisco Proper, and asked her five questions about her successes, how she juggles the hectic schedule of event life, and what #ALifeWellLived means to her.
Being the Event Sales Manager for the new San Francisco Proper hotel, your days & nights must be pretty hectic. What does a normal day look like for you?
There is no such thing as a normal day in events! Each day I get to meet so many people through email, site visits, hotel stays and locals just popping in. Most of my day consists of telling our story that we have at San Francisco Proper!
What differences do you see between other luxury lifestyle hotel brands and Proper Hospitality?
We set ourselves apart from other brands with our focus on design, creativity and attention to detail – not only seen in each room of the property but also in our food and beverage presentation and experience. Each little details matters!
“A Life Well-Lived” – What does this phrase mean to you?
This phrase would mean balance of important aspects my life for health, work-life balance, family and friend relationships and giving my dogs the best life.
How do you define success?
I would define success in the events industry as building great relationships with clients and delivering exceptional service for a flawless event! When our clients and guests leave with smiles on their faces because of their unique experience and full stomachs of food and cocktails – we’ve done our job.
Where do you see hotels moving towards in the future in regards to creating popular F&B & event destinations?
I do see more and more unique properties that have been popping up in the last few years. Because of this, hotel guests are not just looking for a great room – the bars and restaurants in the hotels are becoming a huge factor for guests when they book. More often, the city locals are filling up the spaces along with hotel guests.
As we all work in the travel space, if you had to pick one destination in the world that you have visited and would continue to visit every year, where would it be and why?
I would choose Vienna, Austria! I studied abroad for a semester in Vienna and fell in love with the city immediately. Although some think Vienna is a quiet little town, I find it to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
