Surya’s same healing Sound Bath, though in this case, performed at the end of your day, when you (and perhaps your partner) are tucked into bed, and ready for sleep. With the lights low, the sound bath musician melts away your worries and concerns, sending you into a deep and restorative rest, and with the final mantra, turns off the lights, tip-toes out, and gently locks the door behind them.

Surya Dosha Yoga is a simple and practical form of Ayurvedic yoga, designed to help balance our innate constitutions, our Ayurvedic doshas, by either calming us, cooling us, or energizing us, as we might need. Each session is guided by the best instructors in Los Angeles, who will customize your flow to balance whatever is needed, leaving you in a restored and revitalized state.

Vedic Astrology, known as Jyotish, or the Wisdom of Light, is a practice that predates western astrology, and dives deeply into the planetary patterns present at the time of our birth, gleaning valuable clues that help us understand our life’s journey. In an in-depth and personal session, your Jyotishi will carefully analyze and interpret the patterns unique to your chart and life, and review both the challenges and advantages in which you currently find yourself, in order to optimize your full potential. In partnership with the David Lynch Foundation and Santa Monica’s local Transcendental Meditation center, this 3 or 4 day experience takes only an hour a day, and has immediate, positive effects. TM training is a simple and natural mental technique that gives proven benefits for your mind, body and emotions, with a process carefully personalized for you by a certified TM teacher, and taught one-on-one. The TM technique is an effortless and evidence-based meditation technique you can do anywhere, and receive benefits from as soon as you begin. Though the first session is one-on-one, if couples, families, or groups wish to learn together, the following days’ instruction are perfectly suited for that experience. Surya’s breath-work practice, designed to help us expand our awareness and consciousness, beings with a reconnection to our current intentions, and what challenges we may be facing. A simple two-part breath gently activates what Ayurveda calls our “energetic body,” and helps move out of our mind, body, and spirit whatever we don’t need. This active breath-work fills your system with energy and gives you direct access to the healing potential of your own being. As emotions clear, we discover a space of stillness, vibrancy, and peace, allowing us to build a deeper relationship with all that we are. Each session ends, if desired, with space for discussion, meditative reflection, and guidance for creative, on-going practice. As the buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh liked to say, breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, and in this session, you will experience that awakening your own life, too.

Grandmaster Ten “Kancho” Hirakawa teaches you the moves of a core Tai Chi “kata” that you can practice on your own, as well as a series of Chi Gong movements that revitalize organs, mind, and breath. Tai Chi, centuries old, is recognized even by western medicine as a way to decrease stress, anxiety, and depression, and to improve mood, energy, balance, strength and agility. Single-Day Retreat, $945

This single day experience offers guests a delicious taste of Surya’s famous Panchakarma Retreat. During this 3.5–4 hour journey your mind, body, and spirit will be deeply restored and nourished. Your Ayurvedic treatments and herbalized oils are customized for your unique physiology, based on diagnosis from a picture of your tongue and any health concerns you raise.

This treatment was originally designed for brides to help them look and feel their best before the wedding. In L.A., this treatment is also requested during Awards Season, and some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities come regularly to Surya to get their Ayurvedic glow on.
