Gym

The Proper gym features three dedicated wide open spaces with natural light with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, state-of-the-art strength training, weight and cardio equipment and direct access to outdoor classes, including yoga and boot camp. Each space is available to reserve for private use. Group and personalized training sessions are available upon request.

Yoga

Inspiring wellness and thoughtful community is part of the Proper way. Join us on the Olea Terrace or Calabra Rooftop for daily or weekly classes (depending on the season). Relax, revive and restore with fresh ocean breezes and coastal views. Now that’s Proper.

Group Fitness

Experience a diverse range of signature group fitness classes from our favorite local pros, complimentary for hotel guests. Our favorite class at the moment? Boot camp on the terrace with Alex Sapot, master trainer from Barry’s Bootcamp. Interested in 1-on-1 workouts? Personal training is available upon request.

Personal Training

Santa Monica Proper offers Individual private training sessions with Proper instructor Ally. Ally has spent most of her athletic career as a swimmer, runner, and triathlete. She has a Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) Level 1 certification (AKA run coach) and a NSCA-CPT certification (AKA fitness instructor). Classes available range from HIIT, Core + Cardio, Tabata and small group runs.

Outdoor Activities

With the Pacific Ocean only blocks away, we have the gear to help you make the most of the sun and sand: From beach volleyball to bicycles (Electra and Rad Electric Fat Bikes) to beach towels. Cruise the famed bike path and head north to beautiful Will Rogers State Beach; or venture South through SaMo to Venice, Marina Del Rey… All the way toward surf spots like the Venice Pier and El Porto.
