Professional photography requests must be reviewed and approved with at least four weeks’ notice. This includes any photography or videography with professional equipment, drones, and/or media-use. Hotel rooms cannot be booked to be used as a shoot location. A member of our team must accompany the photographer in all public spaces and spaces must remain 100% intact.

Mobile phone photography is permitted with limitations:

• No more than 5 minutes of dedicated photo taking.
• Privacy and respect for hotel guests and colleagues must be observed at all times.
• Doors, hallways, passages, elevators, etc. may not be blocked for any reason.
• Spaces must remain 100% intact – furniture, design elements, seating, etc. cannot be moved, rearranged, or stood on.

Yes. Downtown L.A. Proper is a pet-friendly hotel. Dogs are welcome, and pet amenities may be available upon request to ensure your furry companion is as comfortable as you are.

The hotel interiors were designed by Kelly Wearstler, renowned for her bold, eclectic style. The building itself is a restored 1920s Renaissance Revival structure originally designed by Alexander Curlett and Claud Beelman.
