San Francisco Proper Hotel’s restaurants and bars pay homage to the City by the Bay and its colorful history and spirit of innovation. Social gathering points for the dynamic Mid-Market neighborhood, Villon, Charmaine’s, and La Bande present an array of inspired menus and settings for dining and drinking from morning through night. Culinary Director and Executive Chef Jason Franey leads the culinary programs, while local partners and celebrated cocktail innovators Josh Harris and Morgan Schick of BVHospitality oversee the beverage programs. The team has received a combined total of six James Beard Award nominations.

Consider our sophisticated all-day restaurant and lounge your living room for a dynamic new neighborhood. At Villon, Executive Chef Jason Franey showcases his signature contemporary American cuisine, rich with unexpected twists and inspiration drawn from San Francisco’s bountiful culinary culture, seasonal ingredients, and global influences. BVHospitality’s “7×7” cocktail anthology pays playful homage to San Francisco’s seven-by-seven-mile area, featuring 49 original and classic libations.

A CAFE FOR ALL STRIPES

Get into the rhythms of the neighborhood at La Bande, our “new fashioned” cafe and market. In the light-strewn space encased in green glazed tiles and black-and-white stripes, Counter Culture cappuccinos are always poured right, and house-made hand pies and tartines beckon from the pastry case. In the evening, drop by for curated provisions and a bottle of Napa red to go, or savor a craft beer as you mingle with friends old and new around communal tables.
