ARTFUL EXPRESSIONS
An unforgettable, portrait-ready entrance is only the beginning. Leading dreamily from lobby level to welcome guests to the foyers of the second floor, a grand wooden staircase is adorned with a colorful patchwork of 60 hand-selected vintage rugs. The ballroom holds a sizable dance floor and generous dining configurations (also available partitioned). The scene transitions gracefully to a private stone terrace with sunset views. The ballroom offers dimmable lighting, drop screens, a background music system and windows for natural light.
Morning Glory

Morning Glory offers thoughtfully tailored Kelly Wearstler furnishings, state-of-the-art capability, a kitchenette/bar for refreshments on caliber with your event, and an events team on hand to get ahead of every issue. Light emanates from the patio terrace and the canopy of cool, textured iron fixtures, while southern-facing views in the pre-function area stay bright all day. Accommodating 12-20 guests.
The Quill Room
Enjoy a cozy cocktail hour or pre-event gathering place at our second floor lounge The Quill Room, an inspired and adaptable space with a built-in bar, piano, and views of the landmark Butterfly Bridge. Inviting and warm, consider The Quill Room our elevated living room, perfect for convivial receptions and heartfelt toasts.

Elevated above downtown with commanding views, the portrait-ready poolside at Austin Proper Hotel is exquisitely unexpected for wedding reception, sunset cocktail hours and rehearsal dinners alike. Imagine family-style platters piled high with wood-grilled meats and vegetables, served at large communal tables. Fresh and lively, it’s the authentic antidote to Tex-Mex with a high-design spirit that’s playful but composed. Walls of glass overlook the pool and after party-ready cabanas.
The Peacock Private Dining Room

Our private dining room includes exclusive access to our creekside deck. Flowing indoors and out, yet still well-cloistered with a separate entrance, it’s a lush, creatively designed space with a club-like feel. (This setup can segue into a kickoff cocktail party after rehearsal dinners or small receptions, for all guests!) For up to 18 guests/45 for standing reception, it’s milestone-ready for presentations with A/V capability. Custom menu design through the adjacent restaurant is inspired by Eastern Mediterranean fare, while Proper’s fine dining service ensures unforgettable celebration.

Allow our spacious Penthouse Suite to be the backdrop for an intimate ceremony, celebratory cocktail hour, or as the pre-wedding dressing room for a bridal party. Can we host both the ceremony and reception on-site?
Yes, you can host your full wedding experience at Austin Proper-including the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and even post-wedding brunch. Our team will help you design a seamless flow across one or multiple venues.
Do you provide in-house catering and bar service?
Yes. Our culinary team offers custom, chef-driven menus inspired by The Peacock and La Piscina. We also offer personalized cocktail programs, curated wine lists, and full bar packages.
Can we reserve room blocks for wedding guests?
Absolutely. Special group rates and room blocks are available for your guests. Submit a request via our Room Block & Event RFP Form to begin the process.
Is there a dedicated wedding planner on staff?
Austin Proper provides a dedicated events team to guide you through layouts, menu planning, and logistics. While we do not offer full-service planning, a certified wedding planner is required for all weddings. The planner will work in coordination with our on-site events team to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding day.
Do you offer any wedding or event packages?
No, all of our weddings are fully customizable with a choice of various preset menus.
