The Ballroom offers a distinctive setting for Austin affairs. Available partitioned or whole, the Ballroom holds a sizable dance floor and generous dining configurations. The scene transitions gracefully to a private stone terrace with a southwestern Shoal Creek and Texas Hill Country view. A dramatic stairway installation of patchworked vintage rugs welcomes your guests to the generous foyer of the second floor.

Our location, surrounded by Austin’s most forward-thinking companies, makes our meeting spaces ideal for business. Breaks and cocktail hours come alive on the delightful terrace, overlooking Austin’s lakeside greenscape. It also shares a terrace and pre-function space with Morning Glory. Down to the herringbone-pattern wood flooring, this well-appointed setting provides design by Kelly Wearstler, A/V capability, built in Apple TV and speakers, and the service of the Proper events team.

The living room-like Quill Room-our second floor lounge-offers the intimacy of a sophisticated social club, framed by an incredible view of the landmark Butterfly Bridge. With interiors evoking the textural warmth of a bygone era, built-in bar, a self-playing piano, and bespoke vintage furnishings sourced around the world, find a cozy destination for mingling, sharing bites, and sipping craft cocktails. 

Tucked into a quiet corner of Austin Proper, Kappo Kappo invites guests into a space where intimacy meets ceremony. A 15-seat chef’s counter and adjoining 10-seat dining room create the ideal setting for private dinners and quiet celebration. Here, an 11-course omakase experience blends French technique with Japanese precision. Each plate is guided by the chef, each moment unfolding in real time. It’s less a dinner, more a ritual-personal, seasonal, and quietly transportive.

Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina’s Patio offers a private space next to the pool deck serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The vibrant, open space overlooks the downtown Austin bustle as groups convene over family-style platters, ceviches and table-top sizzling fajitas, with fresh seafood grilled over a wood fire and house-made tortillas from an open comal. The bar provides an accompanying selection of frozen margaritas, native Mexican spirits, small-batch tequila & mezcal as well as an assortment of outdoor-friendly snacks.

Austin Proper’s 9,500 square feet of meeting spaces flow naturally from ballroom to boardroom. Our in-house events team are dedicated to plan and execute your most creative wishes and activities with world-class service-whether for a corporate business meeting, wedding reception, album release party, or a private dinner. Each of our venues feature custom catering led by Austin’s own MML Hospitality, plus complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.
